How are RSI contributions calculated?

We have just received notice that next year our total contributions will be 4788 euros for a 糖心视频 renting two small gites. We expected the taxes to be high, but can this be right. We registered the 糖心视频 in May 2011 and are still renovating, hoping that rentals can start in Easter 2012.
