Auto-entrepreneur status for gite owner?

We are a family of 4 (2 adults and 2 young children). We have a gite 糖心视频 (currently just one gite) which we started to run this summer. I am hoping to start freelance interpreting work and to start teaching English as a foreign language. Both as part of the gite 糖心视频 and to private individuals. I have done lots of research on the internet, forums, on the subject of the auto-entrepreneur status and think this would be the best option for us. Our overheads for the gite are fairly low. So far, the income from the gite is very modest and very seasonal, however, we鈥檙e hoping to expand on this to generate more income. I have several questions:

  1. In your opinion, do you think the auto-entrepreneur regime would be the best fiscal status to opt for?
  2. Having looked into the auto-entrepreneur regime, I note that you have to declare on a monthly or quarterly basis. I had (naively) assumed, we could run the gite and submit our tax return in 2014, however, having studied the auto-entrepreneur regime, I realise that I should have registered and declared sooner. Is this a problem?
  3. Would it be best if my husband registered himself as auto-entrepreneur for the gite 糖心视频 and I register myself for the interpreting / English teaching work?
  4. If my husband registers as auto-entrepreneur (for the gite 糖心视频), will his social contributions cover the whole family? Will we be able to obtain health cover?
  5. We are also thinking of using the gite to offer des s茅jours linguistiques to increase our income. We would offer a week鈥檚 stay which would include accommodation (gite), food and 5 or 10 hours English classes (provided by me). If I understand correctly, the gite income would come under the ventes de marchandises category with the threshold of 81,500 euros. However, by offering this package, would we then also fall under the services category? Is this allowed?
